This course will teach skilled database administrators how to install and use MariaDB MaxScale to manage a cluster of database servers. Students will learn to configure MaxScale to split database traffic between servers for load balancing, and manage database failover (automatically and manually). We'll also thoroughly review how to use MaxScale to stream large amounts of data to other applications.
PREREQUISITES
Completion of the MariaDB for DBAs course OR relevant intermediate working experience as a MariaDB or MySQL Database Administrator
Experience using MariaDB Replication
Working knowledge of database concepts
Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux command-prompt usage
Basic knowledge of computer networking
SUGGESTED PREREQUISITES
Linux administration skills
MariaDB server configuration and usage
Familiarity with AWS VMs
Familiarity with VirtualBox
CLASS DETAILS
This is a 2-day course. Each day is a 6.5-hour session that includes instructor-led training, followed by hands-on exercises. We will take a 30 minute lunch/coffee break at 12:30.
